History: East Field was constructed in 1980 as a home for the Glens Falls White Sox, Double-A affiliate for the Chicago White Sox. In 1986, the team changed affiliations to the Detroit Tigers and would become the Glens Falls Tigers until 1988. East Field was also home to the Glens Falls Redbirds, single A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Adirondack Lumberjacks an Independent League team and the Glens Falls Golden Eagles of the PGCBL. East Field was a starting point for many great MLB Players, including hall of fame pitcher John Smoltz (Tigers),  Ron Kittle (White Sox) and Ross Kivett (Golden Eagles/Seattle). The Dragons organization is proud to call East Field home!

Historic Records

  • Saturday April 19th, 1980: First professional baseball game played at East Field between the Albany Reds and Glens Falls White Sox
  • 1986: Team becomes AA affiliate of Detroit and is renamed to Glens Falls Tigers
  • 1988: Tigers move from Glens Falls to London, Ont.
  • 1993: Glens Falls Redbirds (NY-Penn League) begin their only season of play at East Field
  • 1995: Adirondack Lumberjacks (Northern League) begin play at East Field
  • 1995: Adirondack Lumberjacks win the Northern League Championship
  • 2000: Adirondack Lumberjacks win their second championship
  • 2002: Adirondack Lumberjacks leave East Field for Bangor, ME.
  • 2004: Glens Falls Golden Eagles (NYCBL) begin play at East Field
  • 2015: Golden Eagles become the Glens Falls Dragons

No-Hitters At East Field

  • August 27, 1986- Glens Falls Tigers pitcher Bill Cooper throws 7 no-hit innings to become the first pitcher to throw a no-hitter at East Field
  • April 17, 1988- Glens Falls Tigers pitcher Cesar Mejia throws the first 9-inning no-hitter in East Field history
  • July 10, 1996- Joel Bennett of the Newburgh Nighthawks no-hits the Adirondack Lumberjacks
  • July 16, 2006- Mike LaFleur throws a 7-inning no-hitter for the Glens Falls Golden Eagles 
  • May, 2016- Fort Ann High School Standout Tyler Mattison throws a 7-inning no-hitter in the Foothills Council finals at East Field
